Cafe Manager at Lowertown Bar & Cafe
Lead the day shift at Ann Arbor's neighborhood coffee destination
Lowertown Bar & Cafe is a thriving community hub on Ann Arbor's north side, and we're seeking an experienced Cafe Manager to oversee our daytime coffee operations (8am-4pm). This role is perfect for someone who loves building community through exceptional coffee service and has the operational chops to keep a busy cafe running smoothly.
What you'll do:
Oversee daily cafe operations including staff scheduling, inventory, and vendor relationships
Lead and mentor a team of baristas, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment
Ensure consistent quality in both beverages and customer experience
Handle opening/closing procedures and maintain operational standards
Work closely with ownership to develop the cafe's growth and community presence
Maintain relationships with local suppliers and partners
What we're looking for:
Previous management experience in a cafe or restaurant setting
A passion for coffee culture and creating welcoming vibes
Minimum 3 years coffee shop/cafe experience
Open availability, 5 days per week required
Hospitality-minded with a genuine guest-focused approach
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to balance operational efficiency with warmth and community connection
Reliable transportation
