Barista Position at Lowertown Bar & Cafe
Part-Time / Weekend Availability Required
We're looking for a barista who understands that good coffee is about more than just pulling shots. It's about being the friendly face that neighbors look forward to seeing, whether they're grabbing their daily brew or settling in with the Saturday paper.
This part-time position requires availability for Saturday and Sunday shifts (7:30am-4pm), with opportunities for additional weekday or evening hours based on your schedule and our needs. We're flexible with the right person who can commit to those weekend mornings.
What You'll Do
Make quality coffee drinks using Hyperion beans (we'll train you on our methods)
Create a welcoming atmosphere for everyone from students to families to longtime locals
Work with pastries from our partners at Botanical Bakeshop, Beara Bakes, and Elevated Shortbreads
Help maintain our converted garage space that somehow manages to feel both industrial and cozy
Be part of our day-to-night transformation (coffee by day, cocktails by evening)
What We're Looking For
Service experience (you know how to handle a rush and still keep people happy)
Saturday and Sunday availability
Interest in being part of a real neighborhood gathering place
Ability to work on your feet and maintain good energy
Helpful but not necessary:
Coffee experience (though being eager to learn matters more)
Familiarity with Ann Arbor's north side
