Our Story
Nestled in a lovingly restored 1938 Pure Oil service station, Lowertown Bar & Cafe is more than just a place to grab a drink or a bite. We're a catalyst for the evolution of Ann Arbor's historic Lowertown district.
By day, we're your go-to spot for that perfect cup of locally-roasted Hyperion coffee and freshly baked pastries from Botanical Baked Goods, Beara Bakes, and more. As the sun sets, we transform into a vibrant bar, offering craft cocktails, local brews, and inspired non-alcoholic options.
Our Space
Inside you'll find yourself in a space that beautifully balances industrial roots with modern comfort. Warm wood tones, cozy booths, and subtle lighting create an inviting atmosphere that feels both fresh and familiar.
Our expansive patio is a neighborhood favorite, complete with fire pits for chilly evenings and ample seating for sunny afternoons. It's the perfect backdrop for everything from casual meetups to celebratory gatherings and watching.

Our Approach
We believe in quality without pretension. Our drinks menu showcases both classic favorites and innovative creations, with an emphasis on craft and care. From our signature Camo Latte and homemade Chai to our locally-sourced beers, every sip tells a story.
While we don't have a full kitchen, we partner with local bakeries and food trucks to offer a rotating selection of treats that complement our drinks perfectly. Check our schedule for the food truck rotation and other events.
